You can only just see it but on the left of this picture the tack of the main sail is secured by passing the cunningham up through the cunnungham cringle, down to the shackle on the boom, back up to the cringle at the corner of the sail and then back down to the cleat on the mast. This is a very good way to get sufficient tension into the luff of the mainsail. Better than trying to haul the main up tighter.![]() |
